Ridge Vent Secured (Ridge-Guard Installation)
Ridge vents are made from plastic which over times warps with due to the heat of the sun. When it does it creates gaps allowing animals such as bats, mice, flying squirrels and other wildlife entry into the attic area. Our team is trained and certified to install Ridge-Guard over your ridge vent. This product completely encapsulates the ridge vent preventing entry while still allowing the ridge vent to properly ventilate the attic.
Gable Vents
Gable vents were the main source of attic ventilation prior to development of ridge vent. Gable vents come in all shapes but most commonly found are triangular gable vents near the peak of the home. These vents are typically designed with louvers and a basic window screen installed on the inside. Gable vents act as built in bat houses on your home. Squirrels and birds also will commonly use these vents to get into the attic. Our technicians secure these vents by installing wire screening from the outside preventing wildlife access.
Roof and Soffit Connections
Gaps where the soffit and roof come together is very common on homes. We have seen these gaps anywhere from a fraction of an inch all the way to almost twelve inches. These gaps are common entry points for rodents, bats, squirrels and even raccoons. Securing them with steel is advised to prevent rodents from chewing though. Some connections can be secured with simple flashing while others are recommended for a boxing out method. The box out method for a soffit roof connection brings out the point where the roof and soffit meet to prevent external roosting for bats and prevent squirrel or raccoon entry.
Bathroom / Dryer Vents
Bathroom and dryer wall vents are an extremely common area that birds enter and nest. Our team replaces the standard wall vent with strong metal vents with magnetic doors. The magnetic doors prevent bird entry. Guards are available for these style vents but should never be used over a dryer vent because it is a fire hazard.
