Pest Control in Raleigh, Done the Right Way
Raleigh runs a long pest season. Warm, humid summers and mild winters mean ant and roach pressure barely lets up, and the older housing stock inside the Beltline gives them a hundred ways in — original crawlspaces, settled foundations, gaps behind brick veneer that have had eighty years to open.
Newer construction has its own version of the problem. North Raleigh, Brier Creek and Wakefield sit on ground that was woods or farmland a decade ago, and that pushes displaced pests straight into new neighborhoods. Our recurring plans are built around that reality: perimeter-focused treatment on a schedule, with the interior treated only when it is actually needed.
Freedom Wildlife Solutions & Pest Control is a pest control company that specializes in wildlife, veteran-owned and operated since 2018. One team covers both sides of the problem — if what you are hearing is in the attic rather than the kitchen, start with wildlife removal in Raleigh.
WHY IT MATTERS
Why Raleigh Homes Get Pest Calls
Three things drive pest pressure in Raleigh, and most homes have at least two of them.
Age of the housing stock.
Inside the Beltline you are dealing with crawlspaces, settled foundations and eighty to a hundred years of small gaps opening up behind brick and siding. Every one of them is an entry point.
New construction on cleared land.
North Raleigh, Brier Creek and Wakefield were woods and farmland recently. Clearing displaces what lived there, and it moves into the nearest structure.
Water.
The Neuse River, Crabtree Creek, Walnut Creek and every HOA retention pond in the city hold moisture that mosquitoes, roaches and ants all key on. Raleigh humidity does the rest.
Spring
Ant and termite swarm season; overwintered pests wake up and move.
Summer
Mosquito and stinging-insect peak (wasps, hornets, yellow jackets).
Fall
Rodent push-in: rats and mice move indoors as it cools and fields are harvested.
Winter
Overwintering pests: cluster flies, stink bugs, ladybugs, and spiders sheltering inside.
OUR PROCESS
Our Raleigh Pest Control Process
We believe in smart, targeted pest control — not spray-and-pray. Every home is different, so we act like a bug doctor: diagnose the issue, then apply the right solution for your home, the season, and the active pressures.
1. Inspection
We walk the interior, the exterior perimeter and the crawlspace, identify what you actually have, and find the conditions letting it in. Identification drives everything after this — German roaches and American roaches get treated differently, and so do carpenter ants and odorous house ants.
2. Targeted Product Selection and Rotation
Products are chosen for the pest and the site, and rotated over time so nothing builds resistance. The label is the law — every application follows it.
3. Perimeter-Focused Protection
Most of the work happens outside. We treat the foundation perimeter, entry points, eaves and harborage areas so pests are stopped before they get in. Keeping treatment outside the living space is deliberate.
4. Interior Treatment Only When Needed
We treat inside when the situation calls for it — an active interior infestation, a specific harborage, a problem the perimeter cannot reach. Otherwise we leave the inside of your home alone. De-webbing and granular applications are handled on the scheduled visit.
5. Scheduled Service and Free Re-Service
Your plan visits run on a set schedule. If a covered pest turns up in between, we come back at no charge. You get a service record after every visit.

WHAT WE TREAT
Pests We Handle in Raleigh
NC homes deal with a predictable rotation of pest pressures across the year — plus a few wildlife crossovers most pest companies miss. We handle the full residential and light-commercial spectrum.
Ants
Odorous house ants, pavement ants and fire ants are the everyday Raleigh calls. Carpenter ants are the one to take seriously — they excavate wood rather than eat it, and older homes inside the Beltline with any moisture history are where we find them. Yes, we treat carpenter ants.
Roaches
German roaches are an interior problem and spread fast once established. American roaches — what most people call water bugs — come up out of crawlspaces and sewer lines, and Raleigh humidity keeps them active most of the year. The two need different treatment, so identification matters.
Rodents
Roof rats and house mice, heaviest at the first cold snap when they move indoors. Rodent coverage is included on the Standard Defense and Premium Guard plans, and where the problem is structural we handle exclusion the same way we do for wildlife — sealing the entry point, not just setting traps.
Spiders
Most Raleigh spider calls are nuisance species and a de-webbing plus perimeter treatment handles them. Black widows turn up in crawlspaces, garages and woodpiles, and brown recluse sightings are rare here but worth a look if you think you have one.
Stinging Insects
Yellowjackets, hornets, wasps and carpenter bees. Activity climbs through late summer and peaks around early fall, which is also when nests are largest and least forgiving. Carpenter bees do their damage to fascia, decking and railings rather than to people.
Termites & WDI
Eastern subterranean termites are active across Wake County. We offer inspections, liquid barrier treatment, the Trelona bait system, and WDI reports for real estate transactions.
Mosquitoes
Seasonal yard control knocks the population down where it breeds — March through October.
And More
Silverfish, centipedes, millipedes, earwigs, fleas, ticks and the seasonal invaders that show up in numbers for a few weeks and then disappear. If it is in your house and you did not invite it, call us.
RECURRING PLANS
Recurring Pest Control Plans for Raleigh Homes
Our plans are built around what they cover, not how often we show up. Three levels, and the difference between them is the pest list.
Our entry plan for lower-pressure homes — full exterior coverage on a 4-visit-per-year cycle, with free re-services in between if pests return.
Covered pests: Roaches, spiders, house ants, crickets, millipedes, centipedes, silverfish, earwigs, and more. (No rodent coverage — step up to Standard for rodents.)
Our most popular plan for good reason — everything in Economy Shield plus rodent protection and stinging-insect nest removal, on a 6-visit-per-year cycle. Comprehensive coverage for busy families.
Covered pests: Everything in Economy plus rodents and stinging insects (wasps, hornets, yellow jackets).
Maximum protection for your home and yard — everything in Standard Defense plus seasonal yard services on a 12-visit-per-year cycle. The most complete coverage we offer.
Covered pests: Everything in Standard plus yard pests — mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, moles, voles, and fire ants.

“We’ve been extremely happy with our pest service! Joseph consistently goes above and beyond, especially when it comes to keeping the spider webs under control around our wraparound porch. And believe me when I say we had a spiderweb problem! It’s a big job, but he always takes the time to thoroughly remove webs and make sure everything looks clean. He’s reliable, professional, and clearly takes pride in his work. I appreciate his attention to detail! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a company that truly cares about providing excellent service!”

FAQ
Pest Control in Raleigh — Frequently Asked Questions
How much does pest control cost in Raleigh?
It depends on the plan you choose, the size of the home and what you are dealing with when we start. We inspect first and quote in writing, and the estimate is free. We will also tell you if the Economy Shield plan covers what you have rather than pushing you to Premium.
Are the products safe around children and pets?
We use EPA-registered products applied according to label directions, and the label is the law. Most of the work is on the exterior perimeter rather than inside the living space. Your technician will tell you re-entry timing for anything applied indoors.
How often will you come out?
It depends on the plan. Economy Shield is four scheduled visits a year, Standard Defense is six, and Premium Guard is twelve. If a covered pest shows up between visits, we come back at no charge.
What is the difference between the three plans?
Coverage. Economy Shield handles the common household pests but does not include rodents. Standard Defense adds rodent coverage. Premium Guard is the most complete coverage we offer and also includes rodents. Pick based on what you want covered, not on how often we visit.
Do you handle termites?
Yes — inspections, liquid barrier treatment, the Trelona bait system, and WDI reports for real estate closings. Termite work is quoted separately from the recurring plans.
Do you treat mosquitoes?
Yes, two ways. Mosquito control is included in the Premium Guard plan as part of the yard package, and we also offer it as a standalone service for homes that don’t want a full plan. Seasonal coverage runs March through October. Raleigh properties backing onto creeks, greenways or retention ponds get the most out of it.
