Careers at Freedom Wildlife Solutions & Pest Control

We do not hire resumes. We hire people.

Freedom Wildlife Solutions & Pest Control is a veteran-owned wildlife and pest control company based in Clayton, NC. We started in 2018 with one truck. Today we are a team of thirteen covering nine North Carolina counties, and we are not done.

Our mission is not wall decoration: create opportunities for every team member to achieve their career, personal, and financial goals while delivering exceptional service to our clients. That is the reason this company exists. Everything else follows from it.

Why People Stay

Plenty of companies in this trade will hand you a truck and a route and leave you to figure it out. That is not how we operate.

Rob Weaver started this company after serving in the US Army. What he missed most after leaving was the camaraderie – a team that has your back and holds you to a standard. We built that here on purpose. It is the thing nobody puts in a job ad and the thing our team actually talks about.

We Pay For Your License. You Carry It For Your Career.

You do not need pest or wildlife experience to start here. You need character and a willingness to learn. We handle the rest.

We hold NC Wildlife Damage Control, NC Structural Pest Control, Applicators, and Lawn & Ornamental licenses. We are members of NWCOA, the National Pest Management Association, and the NC Pest Management Association. Across the team we carry NWCOA certifications in Bat Standard, Structural Bat Management, Rodent Standard, Bird Management Professional, Goose Academy, Zoonotic Disease Awareness, and Reptile & Venomous Handling. One of our technicians is Premier Technician certified.

We pay for that training and those certifications. Most companies in this trade will not.

What The Job Comes With

Company vehicle, uniforms, tools, and a tablet on field roles

A take-home vehicle is a privilege you earn once you are licensed and running on your own – it is not automatic

Health insurance

401(k) with company match after 90 days

Paid time off

Paid licensing, certifications, and continuing education

Roughly 30 days of structured onboarding, plus weekly training

Hourly pay with a clear promotion ladder, or heavy-commission upside, depending on the role

Who Fits

We hire for character and train the skills. These six values are what we actually measure people against:

Trust – building strong, lasting relationships with customers and our team.

Professionalism – upholding the highest standards of conduct and appearance.

Safety – ensuring the safety of our team and customers in all aspects of our work.

Teamwork – working collaboratively to achieve our goals and provide exceptional service.

Education – committing to continuous improvement through education and knowledge sharing.

Hard Work – approaching every job with dedication, consistency, and a drive for excellence.

If those read like a poster to you, this is not your company. If they read like how you already work, keep going.

Questions People Ask

Do I need experience in pest control or wildlife?

No. Most of our team did not have it when they started. We hire for character and train the skills. Trades, construction, athletics, customer service, or any hands-on background helps.

Do I need a resume?

No. The application takes about two minutes and does not require one. If you have a resume and want us to see it, email it to recruiting@freedomwildlifesolutions.com.

Do you really pay for the license?

Yes. We pay for the course, the license, and the industry certifications you earn as you grow. On the wildlife side, the state only offers the licensing course about three times a year – until you pass it, you work as a Helper alongside a licensed technician, learning the trade and getting paid to do it.

Do you run background checks?

Yes. Everyone who works at Freedom Wildlife Solutions & Pest Control passes a background check before they start – field and office, no exceptions. Our people are in customers homes. That standard is not negotiable.

What is the work actually like?

Honest answer: it is hot in an attic in July and cold in January. You will lift, climb, and work outdoors year-round. The people who love it here love that it is real work with a real result at the end of the day.

How fast will I hear back?

If it looks like a fit, within 2 business days.
